What are some of the myths? For one, it happens mostly in women. The truth is that it doesn't discriminate but breast cancer is usually high on the media list. There are different forms of cancer, more than we are led to believe.

My name is Michael and I am a three time cancer survivor. People sometimes don't understand that fighting cancer is a life long journey. One must make lifestyle changes, dietary changes. I am and will always be in the fight helping others to get the proper check-ups, don't ignore any early signs. #FightingStrong is my motto stay in the fight!!

African Americans simply get involved for 1 month during awareness month. This needs to be an all the time awareness. Only when it hits home, in which case, everybody black has at least one family member affected, should talk about this disease and learn from it. It simply becomes a way of life, a new way of living.
